Did you know there is an ongoing NICA family support group on the Internet? Why should you join these other NICA families? Many families who have enrolled for NICA benefits have had questions about whether specific medical or other benefits should be awarded that NICA has declined to cover. Some families are getting benefits that other families are not getting, without any clear reason given by NICA for the distinction. NICA does not publish a manual or written list of what it is willing to pay for. These support group families learn from each other, and also offer each other emotional support for the great difficulties of raising children with special needs. Since NICA families are spread around the state, the Internet offers the best way for such a group to come together. If you are interested in becoming part of the ongoing and private NICA family support group, at no cost to you, please fill out and submit the short form below. You are eligible to join with these other families if you already have a child enrolled in NICA, and you may be eligible if you are presently applying for NICA benefits, or considering applying for benefits for your child. There also are members whose child has died, but they participate in the group in order to help other families.
